Borderless World Volunteers is composed of two main organizational bodies: a Global Executive Committee and a network of university chapters. The Global Executive Committee sets organization-wide policy, oversees and integrates the operations of all university chapters, and seeks funding opportunities for major initiatives and development projects. The Board of Directors, comprised of professionals from a variety of fields, assists with the determination of policy and strategy, provides regular feedback to the Global Executive Committee about its operations and reviews each chapter's development projects. The Project Development Advisory Board, consisting of individuals with subject matter expertise in development issues, provides focused and technical feedback on each chapter's research, project proposals and completed initiatives. Each chapter of BWV is a unique entity that operates at undergraduate colleges and universities and manages their own finances.
In collaboration with the Global Executive Committee, each chapter creates a specific operational plan that reflects the interests and skills of their student membership. Throughout the year, the students work to implement their plan and receive continuous feedback and support from the Global Executive Committee, the Board of Directors and the Project Development Advisory Board. This structure helps to ensure that the organization is meeting its mandate of building student leaders who implement high-impact global development projects.
